I’m just an average guy really, trying to make his way in the world like everyone else.
At the time of writing I’m at 54 years of age, not too bad considering everything that’s happened to me, and I’ve been solo camping/wildcamping in some form or another, on and off since the age of 14. Over the years I’ve seen a lot of changes to the kit we use, most of them subtle but often with huge advantages.
Generally speaking I tend to prefer going on my own, but recently I’ve been enjoying having company on some of my walks and camps. Maybe it’s just the mellowing of age that brings a greater tolerance for the chattering of other minds, or simply the fact that I’m trying to encourage others to take part in this activity. Either way it’s sometimes nice to chat along the way as you head off into your next mini adventure.
