About me

I’m Mark, a 56 year old man from Norfolk who’s been wandering the hills with a pack on his back for the best part of forty years. I started this blog to share that world, the camps, the kit, the walks, the occasionally brutal weather, and the moments that make it all worthwhile.

Forty years of experience, shared without the flannel.

But there’s another side to what I do here. For a long time I lost myself, I had a successful business, a great family, and everything looked fine, at least on paper. But I quietly felt hollow underneath it all, running on responsibility and very little else.

I eventually got the help I needed to find my way back, and that experience changed the course and direction of my life. Now I work with men who are in the same place I was.

The Live Better Coaching Program is a twelve week process that helps men who are doing well on paper, but drifting from the things that actually matter – their families, their own sense of purpose, and the version of themselves they always intended to be. It’s not corporate wellness and It’s not a self help book. It’s structured, honest, practical work for men who are serious about changing how their life feels, not just how it looks.

If any of this sounds familiar, the coaching page is worth a read.

Otherwise, welcome to the blog. Pull up a log, get a brew on, and let’s talk routes and kit.
